Tale of the Tape Boxing Podcast | Episode 94
Luis Ortiz put the heavyweight division on notice with an impressive seventh-round KO victory over top-10 contender, Bryant Jennings. On the undercard, Nicholas Walters handled Jason Sosa over the distance, just to be shafted with yet another head-scratching decision by the judges. Light-Heavyweight talent Vyacheslav Shabranskyy motored his way to a hard-fought victory over Yunieski Gonzalez. In the middleweight division, 'King' Gabe Rosado outboxed perennial toughman Joshua Clottey. And Yuri Gamboa returned to action showing he still has a lot left in the tank.
From across the pond in the United Kingdom...Andy Lee lost his WBO Middleweight Championship to fellow southpaw Billy Joe Saunders in one of the most uninspired, and just plain awful performances of 2015. After an exciting 3rd-round where Saunders dropped Lee twice, the remaining rounds where saturated by flinching and the occasional jab. The points advantage scored in the 3rd-round proved to be the difference on the judges scorecards. Kenny and Vin discuss the bizarre lack of action between the to world-ranked middleweights.
